Anatomy in the Flow with Kim Beecher, D.C.

Want lots and lots of TriYoga flows and a deeper understanding of the method?  Come for a weekend (or just part of it); all are welcome. TriYoga Flows, mostly basic and level 1, including anatomy instruction for increased understanding of proper alignments and transitions. The instructor, Kim Beecher, is assistant director of TriYoga teacher training and is a practicing chiropractor in Santa Cruz, CA and is a senior teacher on the TriYoga International staff.

Bring to the workshop:
Props, if you have them and Required book: Anatomy of Movement by Germain.

Come for just a part---or for all of the fun and information in a weekend packed with asanaflow and study time.
Completing the entire weekend and the take-home test fulfils anatomy credit toward the 200 or 500 hour certification for Yoga Alliance Registry.

Class Schedule and Descriptions

Please note that Yoga Davis is on sabbatical leave until January 2012. Keren is teaching a Basic/Level 1 class Tuesdays at 7-8:30pm. This is a series of six classes begins on March 8. Register at our Registration and Contact Us icon.

sics
For those who are brand new to yoga and to TriYoga, or those who want a gentle, slow-paced class, these classes include relaxing, restorative and rejuvenating posture sequences for a well-rounded daily practice. Unique spinal wave motions are introduced here and even in this beginning level class students of all levels are building strength. Bolsters, pillows and other props can be used to ensure comfort and alignment.

Level 1, Earth
An introduction to the flows, turns, and spinal wavelike movements which are unique to TriYoga Flows.

Level 2, Water For those students who are ready for poses requiring greater strength and flexibility, and who understand the wavelike movements and flowing turns. Level 3, Fire A more advanced level class built on an understanding of the TriYoga Flows, turns, and mudras.
TriYoga for Runners Specifically designed for runners, this class focuses on the muscles that attach the legs to the pelvis and is a good stretch for the hips, legs, ankles, and toes. We also include some stretches and strengthening poses for the upper body. The class includes a wonderful period of deep relaxation at the end.

Pranayama & Meditation (Prana Vidya) Develop greater health, mental clarity and inner peace with these ancient yoga practices. This class includes breathing and mudra (hand gesture) practices, and meditation techniques.

Natural Alignment In these classes, many precise details are given providing a more focused discovery of the subtleties of postural alignment, flowing movements, mudras and breath control.

* Each class ends with a period of deep relaxation, a short pranayama an meditation.
